Open splice to K & T

An open splice is not permitted under any condition, in addition it is not permitted to splice and/or add on to knob and tube wiring. Whenever possible knob and tube wiring should be replaced with either Romex (non metallic sheathed cable) or Bx (metallic sheathed cable) to provide a safe electrical system.
