The rubber hoses supplied with new washing machines are typically rubber. Because most people do not turn off the water between uses the hose is always under full pressure. A failure will result in continuous flow of water. The use of stainless steel braided or polymer wrapped hoses to prevent floods and damage caused by burst hoses is recommended.
