Water Potability

Inspections Unlimited Inc offers the following water test for your convenience, all lab work is performed by a qualified lab, the turn around time is normally 5-7 business days.

WELL FUNCTION AND CAPACITY

The function of the well will be check during the inspection to determine if the capacity is adequate for your needs under normal usage. This is normally considered the ability to maintain a minimum of 3 ½ gallons per minute over a 45 minute period.

In addition the function of the well and related components will be checked. This is to determine if the well is cycling properly with the proper differential between on and off settings and if the pump is accessible the method of installation and wiring. Pumps in the well are not removed for inspection.

Potability testing, which is additional, is to determine if the water is safe to drink and the amount and types of impurities present.

STANDARD SCAN

This checks for the common causes of unhealthy water AND sources of low water quality. More and more, bankers are asking for a water test when providing a mortgage for a home with a well. This test covers all known banking requirements including FHA and VA mortgages.

This scan will give you a basic low cost indication of the level of some of the more common contaminants found in water.

These are: total coliform bacteriafecal/E. coli, lead plus: Sodium, Potassium, Copper, Iron,Manganese, Magnesium, Calcium, Arsenic, pH, Turbidity, Color, Odor, ConductivityTotal Dissolved Solids (TDS), Sediment, AlkalinityChlorine, Chloride, HardnessNitrateNitrite,Ammonia, Sulfate.

COMPREHENSIVE SCAN

A powerful test for surface water and deep well sources. This comprehensive check tests for 61 volatile organic compounds (including MTBE) AS WELL AS the common causes of unhealthy water AND sources of low water quality.

For most conditions this is the best test for determining the quality of your water.

These are: total coliform bacteria, lead, nitratenitrite, radon, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium, chloride, chlorinehardness, pH, total dissolved solids, sulfate,ammonia plus: fecal/E.colialkalinity, odor, conductivity, sediment, turbidity, arsenic and 61 volatile organic compounds.

COMPREHENSIVE PLUS PESTICIDES SCAN

This analysis includes every thing in the Comprehensive Scan and adds 17 pesticides to the analysis. For clients adjacent to farming areas, or who suspect inappropriate use of pesticides in the adjacent neighborhood, this analysis gives certainty about the water quality.

For those who have a concern about pesticides from agricultural or gardening sources, this will provide the information you need in addition to that provided in the Comprehensive Scan.

The scan checks the following: total coliformfecal/E.coli, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium, alkalinity, chloride, chlorine, color, conductivityhardness, nitratenitrite, odor, pH, sediment, total dissolved solids, sulfate, turbidity, arsenic, lead, ammonia, radon, 61 volatile organics compounds (including MTBE) plus the following pesticides: aldrin, a-BHC, b-BHC, d-BHC, g-BHC, chlordane, 4,4′-DDD, 4,4′-DDE, 4,4′-DDT, Aldrin, endosulfan I, endosulfan sulfate, endrin, endrin aldehyde, heptachlor, heptachlor epoxide, methoxychlor, toxaphene.
